About Matt Foreman

Hey there! I’m Matt Foreman, a self-taught VR game developer with a love for creating immersive experiences. My journey started as a mechanical engineer, but after launching an acclaimed video game level and discovering the magic of VR, my passion for game development led me to pivot my hobby into a full-time career.

While gaining experience at several studios, I also pursued my MBA to complement my technical skills with business insight. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and currently hold a Lead Developer position creating complex multiplayer-networked experiences and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with VR.

Through my journey in game development, I’ve had the privilege of working with talented teams and individuals on a diverse range of projects that have both challenged and inspired me. A few highlights are a medical VR game that guides patients through gamified physical therapy motions to recondition their motor functions, a VR DEI training experience that teaches people cultural competence and emotional intelligence via storytelling, and a mind-bending VR experience that challenges our perceptions and reflects on the relationship between humans and technology.

I’m deeply passionate about the possibilities of VR, especially when it comes to social multiplayer games & experiences. VR has been around for awhile now, but in many ways we’ve only scratched the surface of its potential. Even if people are immersed in virtual worlds, their experiences are very real. That’s a powerful sentiment, especially when you can disregard the laws of physics, help people with their healing journey, or democratize experiences that people normally wouldn’t have access to. There is still so much to discover, and I plan to continue innovating in this exciting field.
